History records that Bowls was played by the Military and free settlers during the second settlement (1825~1856) at the sporting fields at Kings Town. In the 1930's, a complex was established known as "Queen Victoria Park" in approximately where today's Bowling Club now stands. It contained tennis courts, bowling greens and croquet lawns For many years this Bowling Club was known as the "Victoria Park Bowling Club" but since the second World War this name has been replaced by Norfolk Island Bowling Club. |
